Hey folks,

It's been a while I know! We're still in limbo on the housing issue, and I've been having a hard time keeping up with stuff and things. Life seems to be calming down a little bit though, so I'm hoping I might be able to at least post a few more christmas comics, and maybe go back to three a week in the new year.

Oh, and look, I posted a comic today! :)

Hiatus

Like the couple of minutes delay in a live sports broadcast, in case they have to edit out swearing, my comics usually run a few months behind real life, so I get to figure out where the story arc is going before I put stuff online. So there's a few things going on in my life that you guys don't know about yet.

So here's the deal: Since about May, I've gained two partners (without losing any of my existing ones), increased my workload in my 'real' job (the one that actually pays me regular money), taken on a bunch more activism work, and the real crusher - started looking for a new location for the Happy Poly Shared House of Joy, because the landlords are selling up. Yes that's right. AGAIN. Another set of landlords, same old story. The curse of renting.

What all this means is something's got to give, and since the comic isn't paying me money, sleeping with me, or changing the world in any obvious way... sorry guys!

Now don't worry, I love you all, I'm writing all of this down, and I plan to come back once we've got the housing situation all sorted out with a whole bunch of new comics - but it might be a couple of months before that happens.

Don't forget me!

Oh, and if you miss me, perhaps a mug, a poster or even a teddy bear will keep you company...

Backdated News Items and Sick Bunnies

Hi folks,

I've decided to move all of my news to blogspot, so a lot of the entries are new as of today, despite having a date of several months ago on them. They'll still be viewable on the News page at www.chaosbunny.com though, via cunning use of code.

I'm feeling a whole lot better - I finally got a diagnosis of what was keeping me ill all the time (maybe I'll cartoon it) and now I have pills to take (thyroxine) I'm feeling a whole lot better. Yay for medical science!

I'm still a little under the weather, but observant readers may have noted that I'm back up to five days a week already as of last week, and there's actual storyline happening again - hooray!

Now just to get that slight redesign done that I've been meaning to for months...

Sick Bunnies

I'm still not very well (as written in to the comics storyline), and struggling to keep up with the daily schedule at the moment, so I'm very sad to announce that I'm going to drop back to three cartoons a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) for a little while until I'm better. Hopefully it won't be for more than a week or two. I hope you all had a good halloween!

A quick apology for the site outage over the weekend, and the continued lack of new toons on this site - my lovely web chappy had his server blow up. Everything was backed up, but I'm still awaiting ability to upload more work.

In the meantime new toons can be found at chaosbunny.blogspot.com.

I'm hoping to get this fixed as soon as possible!

Unexpected Launch of Chaosbunny Blog, or "Where are all the toons?"

Hi Folks!

Firstly, I'm really sorry about the sudden appearance of a blog instead of the usual series of cartoons. This is because my beloved webhost's server blew up a couple of days ago. It was all backed up, and he's doing his best to get everything migrated over to a new one, but in the meantime I'm afraid we'll just have to manage with the blog instead. I'll be posting some toons here until the site gets fixed, just to keep things going. The moral of this story is that it's always worth asking nicely!

Secondly, you may notice that down there at the bottom is a post by Etain, who was the original owner of chaosbunny.blogspot.com, but who very kindly donated the name to me when I asked nicely a few months ago, expecting to get no response or a 'no way'.

I've been meaning to move my 'news' page over to blog format anyhow, so once the site comes back you'll be able to read the same Chaosbunny News here or on Chaosbunny.com. I just finally got pushed into getting around to it a bit earlier than I might have done!

I also have a twitter account at http://twitter.com/chaosbunny - occasionally this gets updated too, and no doubt I will post updates of any future outages there as well, as I'm sure they'll happen occasionally.

Buy yourself a present for my birthday!

In exactly one week's time it's my birthday (and of course it's valentine's day tomorrow) - so I'm celebrating by launching my online shop. I mentioned it in my last news post, but I have now uploaded lots of new images, and there is a shiny new variety of products available, and see - there is now a link in my left-hand menu! Check out the highlights on my store page! Why not buy yourself something fun to celebrate?

I have also finally gotten around to putting a proper cast page together, so you can tell who's who - I'll be adding more as I go along. There are quite a few friends that I have yet to cartoon, but it will happen eventually!

Snow Day!

Today was apparently the worst snowfall in London for 20 years, and they cancelled all of the buses, so I've spent the day stuck indoors unable to go to work (oh no!). On the other hand it was a great opportunity for some geeking, so I've taken advantage, and I've got shiny new treats for you!

New domain name(s)! - You can now link to me with either www.chaosbunny.com or www.chaosbunny.co.uk - they both redirect right back to the same place (www.maxinegreen.co.uk/jnt/toon.php) but it's a little shorter to type, and lots easier to remember.

Merchandise! - I now have a CafePress shop, which you can find here: www.cafepress.com/jim_and_tonic. I'm still playing around with the set-up, so at the moment everything has the same image on it, but there are shiny Chaosbunny things available to buy already! If you have any requests for a specific item with a different image on it, let me know at jimthechaosbunny@gmail.com.

Cute little icon - Last, but not least, I've been pestered by one particular person into making a favicon for Jim and Tonic - if you're using a proper browser, like Firefox or Opera then you should see a little bunny icon with a pink background (looks a bit like this:) but apparently Explorer refuses to play nicely. Never again must you suffer from a basic bookmark icon... unless you're an Explorer fan, that is.

Will you stop nagging me now, Mister Tim?

New Mini Series

I've not had much storyline in the comic lately, just standalone cartoons, and I know I've had comments from various readers (you lovely people!) about how much they like to see events unfolding, so my friend Vix's minor crisis the other week was my good luck because it gave me something to make a mini-series out of.

Thus from Monday to Friday of next week I shall be posting toons on the subject of 'Vix and Bunny go to the Hospital' for your edification!

Just a quick note to say I updated the archive page as I could see it getting a bit unwieldy later on this year - Toons from 2008 now have their own page. A few more little tweaks coming soon, as and when I have time - but only little ones - if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Merry Christmas everyone! I drew my 200th cartoon the other day - yep for anyone who paid attention to my last news post, you can now tell how many toons I've drawn but not posted - there is quite a lot of extra material for the book! (and that's after I've had a sneaky few weeks off from the drawing and posting, yay for cunning pre-upload systems!)

Just because I'm in a good mood and on holiday I'm posting over weekends for the holiday period, which lasts til I go back to the day job on the 5th of January. I hope you like!

Happy Half Birthday!

Monday morning saw the shockingly swift arrival of Jim and Tonic's six month anniversary (where on earth did the year go?)- that's 120 toons released into the wild, or 40 pages, as I draw them by hand. In fact though, I've drawn rather more than 40 pages, and rather than keep my cartoon running ridiculously behind the times, I've skipped a few here and there. So here's where I announce my cunning plan to produce a book to fit them all in!

Jim and Tonic - the Book will contain all of my previously unseen cartoonage, along with all of the toons dating back to the first of June, as well as exclusive full page adventures drawn especially for the book, and plenty of extra chaos thrown in. And here's where you guys come in:

Feedback Please! - I'm probably going to be self-publishing, which gives me quite a lot of control over the end product. What I'm wanting to know from regular readers is:

How many pages do you think should be in a cartoon book, and at what price?

Will you complain loudly if it takes me another six months to put this thing together?

Any requests? (Reasonable ones!)

Lastly, but most important - Will you buy it? (Hint: the correct answer here is 'Yes!')

Weekdays!

Great news! I've managed to keep up the pace for a few weeks now, I've got into a bit more of a routine with the various new jobs, and it looks like five days a week (with the odd bonus weekend toon) is sustainable, so I'm going to make a commitment and try it til Christmas. Here's to a full working week of Jim and Tonic!

I'm also finally catching up a bit with current events, and will be introducing some more characters, including my family (who are all crazy) over the next couple of weeks. Sadly we'll not be seeing much more of N, but there are a few toons with him in that I may use later - that or I'll save them for when I bring out Jim and Tonic the book! If any of you were observant enough to notice the disappearance of the 'cast' page from the menu, I suspect it will be returning in the next couple of weeks.

Wish me luck keeping up with the schedule!

The end of the Rock Festival series, and being a weekday comic

Yes, that's right folks, the Rock Festival series ends on Friday. After that I'll be reverting to five days a week (rather than three) for a little while, as I have lots of pre-drawn toons to use up, and I want to catch up with current events a little bit.

If it works out well, I may even stay that way long term, but I'm not making any promises yet, as I don't want to bite off more than I can chew! I'm still new to this webcomic lark, and starting two new part time jobs in a couple of weeks time because I need to pay bills, so wish me luck!

Little Tweaks

To keep my mum happy, I've altered my toon page so that the image is a link to the next cartoon. You now have lots more space to click!

I also did some shiny things with my uploading side of the site, but you can't see those, so there :P

A New Home

I finally got around to asking my friendly neighbourhood webmaster to enable PHP on my own domain, which means I can host my own site, rather than having to keep my cartoons in borrowed space. Apologies for the slight gap in service while I moved them over. Hopefully if I have to move again it will be with a little more notice!

Also over the last week or so I realised that there was a little gap in my code that meant any comments that contained an apostrophe (') simply weren't reaching my database. Sorry to anyone who may have made a comment that I missed. I've now fixed the bug, so feel free to resubmit anything you have posted that didn't work the first time. (As of yesterday I have no unread comments, so if it's not showing, I didn't get it).

A New Story Arc!*

I'm starting to get a bit of feedback these days, and quite a few of my readers have commented that they liked the 'Road Trip' series right at the beginning of the strip, so I'm happy to announce the start of a new series: Rock Festival, starting on Monday 1st of September!

It's quite a long series, so to celebrate having had lots of inspiration (and avoid boring anyone, just in case) I'm going to be posting seven days a week for the duration of the series. There also may be a few extra toons leading up to the end of the month. Enjoy!

* I really must stop ending all of my titles with an exclamation mark...

Shiny New Developments!

If you're really observant you may have noticed a couple of new additions to my menu bar just over there on the left. I've been hard at work at the back-end of the site (okay, I spent entire *minutes* on some of it) and we now have a simple archive page, which I fully intend to make even shinier at some point. You can now find favourite toons by title, rather than having to flip through the 'next' and 'previous' links.

I've also added the news page, yes, the one we're on right now, which is where details of further shininess will be found in future. Including, possibly, details of my progress at world domination (my plans involve bikini girls!).
